Water penetration within a house is a major problem. High moisture levels and water seepage can cause rotting in wooden framing, mildew and mold issues. These conditions can cause health issues. The Homeowner often assume that flooded basements and crawl spaces are the result of underground seepage through the foundation wall and floors, and assume that expensive "basement waterproofing" will be necessary to correct such problems. Although, this can be the situation, there can be many causes to water penetration. A detailed inspection of the property may identify a number of much less expensive steps that could be taken to reduce and perhaps even eliminate water problems.
