Home Inspections: Well Water Testing
Compass Home Inspections can make arrangements for private well testing, within the scope of the New Jersey
Private Well Testing Act, N.J.S.A. 58:12A-26 et seq. A NJDEP certified laboratory will perform the collection and analyze the drinking water samples. Bacteria in well water threatens the lives and quality of life of homes everywhere. The PWTA requires drinking water analysis in real estate transactions and a report must be issued detailing the water analysis. Private well water evaluation is for the safety of you and your loved ones.
To check for adequate water supply, toxins and bacteria, a NJDEP certified laboratory performs the following water well evaluations:
- Collects a water sample(s) for a bacterial analysis. The bacterial analysis is to determine the presence of toxins such as lead, arsenic, nitrite/nitrate and/or E. Coli and coliforms
- Delivers the sample(s) to an EPA-approved lab for analysis
- Measure pressure and flow rate to determine if there is an adequate water supply
- With the lab analysis and results, and at the conclusion of the pressure and flow test, you will know if there is enough water and how safe your water is for you and your family.
